About Me

My photo
here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

it's been awhile

you know - it is not as if my life has been quiet the past weeks - with nothing to tell. far from it.. but i have not had the words, really.
I have been planting trees. two flowering cherries along the foot path & three japanese maples.. I have weeded tons of lamium, discovering bulbs and roses. planning on what to plant, then changing my mind.

[the front path leading up to the gate. Joe has just built me a little arbor over the gate. on the right are the three japanese maples that I have just planted]

back to the cherries on the footpath: we got up early that morning to plant - we dug deeply into the soil, sifting and weeding - enriching the soil with cow manure and some organic matter - staking the trees, tying them up and then I planted a clay healing disc beside each of them and hung crystals from their trunk. I asked the Cherry Faeries to help nurture these trees while the established roots in their new home. One is now looking decidedly sick, the leaves are wilting and yellowing and I am at a loss as to why. I go out each day and give it reiki - and that is all I can do. I must trust that this gorgeous Cherry will survive.

20.11.2011 - I weeded in my garden.. wandering here and there, pulling up weeds, digging out irises to be divided.. my fingers found what I thought was yet another rock.. on further inspection & washing - I found it was a spherical amethyst crystal - that crystal somehow was in my garden amongst funeral lillies and creeping charlie... it had found me!

that night we were treated to the most spectacular sunset - I was looking out the back window and noticed a brilliant rosy hue coming over the clouds.. grabbing my camera, while Joe unlocked the gates, we drove quickly to Echo Point - to see the sunset - along with others who had been drawn here at the same time. we all stood in awe.

the colours ranged from brilliant orange to rosy pink and all in between.

[the photos do not do this justice - *click for a larger view*]

we are off on another little trip, north to visit our Mullumbimby family. to the beach, the seaside and hinterland. crystals, organic food and markets. back in early December - when I will have to start thinking about Christmas!

Lucky you to find that amethyst crystal. Amethysts are also called Bishop Stones. Catholic Bishops wear them. Yes, it certainly found you. xoxo
