just recently, while visiting the far north coast and Mullumbimby, - we stayed in a seaside town.. and each morning I went for a walk on the beach. Opening my arms to the gift of a new day, doing a little Tai-Chi, meditating, letting the sun warm my belly and solar plexus and of course paddling in the waves as the gently broke on the shore [standing with my eyes close, like I did when I was a little girl.. waiting for the first touch of a wave.. shocking me with the cold & laughing in delight]And I collected shells. as I do, every time i go to a beach. I keep them in a large glass jar - along with a small print of Mary.
Pray for the wanderer, pray for me.

I love the connection you draw from the sea to being with Mary. Rocks and shells are a part of the natural world and have a spirit, just as the water, moon, sun and stars. The idea that Mary is the Earth Mother makes this all seem so obvious. Very cool thought. Thanks for sharing this with us today.

These are beautiful images...I think that the feminine spirit is more connected to the ocean...less about conquering it. I loved the prayer too.
