About Me

My photo
here I am in a little cottage that evokes the energies of my ancestral lands - a cottage on the moors of Cornwall, or on the cliff tops of Ireland or Scotland. It has a hearth. I am a hedge witch {of sorts}. I wear upcycled clothes, patchouli oil and Redback boots. I am a gypsy; an eccentric and a mystic [I often live with a foot in two worlds]. I serve my guests, tea from an old silver teapot. I love Vervain, yarrow, chamomile & mint. Star watcher and Moon gazer. story cloth weaver. keeper of family dreams and wishes. good friend and creator of life. herbal tea drinker and potion maker.

home

self portrait - a stick from my apple tree - my journey stick

I really am home. I sat under the old apple tree, feet bare upon the ground, eyes closed, breathing the essence of my new home town - Katoomba, into each and every cell of my being. it felt right. it felt comfortable, like an old cardigan wrapping around me, full of memories deep within. nurturing and acceptance. a gentle, calm energy. I knew at that moment that this is where I will begin the next part of my journey - the journey of coming to know who I really am. what can I say? except that I am blessed. I am grateful. I am home.
My very own Avalon, where there are not one but two old apple tree. two lilacs and room for my chooks. a space where I can sit, ponder and search. where I can lay upon Mother Earth and not fear spiders and snakes. a place where sometimes winds will howl incessantly, where it may snow in winter. a place where the mists of the ancestors roll in.

I knew that I was in the right place when I spied this Pixie through my camera lens.. in the boughs of the apple tree.. can you see him?

[we move into Avalon next week]

Robyn,

A new home with such a magical name, Pixies too. Yes I can see him even without you pointing him out. Just a few more sleeps. How wonderful.

You're going to love it. I even like the sound of the town - Katoomba - it sounds tribal and down-to-earth.

Say not, I have found the truth, but rather, I have found a truth. Say not, I have found the path of the soul, Say rather, I have met the soul walking upon my path. For the soul walks upon all paths. The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed. The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.
~Kahlil Gibran~
Cheers to you and your next journey.

You are so right Robyn. This will give you a reassuring secure base for the next part of your life's journey. I think there is a certain amount of grieving in the letting go of the old one. I think you really have found your home now and yourself.Such a lovely time of year to get aquainted with Avalon and make it your own haven. Much love to you and Joe, and all the best for the move.xxxxx

You had to leave to come home again. I hope you are moved in now, and getting things tucked into their new spots. Avalon is a lovely name.
