how times have changed in our little family. where once i would decorate at least 6 or more trees - this year, I have one, maybe two.. my first was put up today.
opening the boxes, memories of Christmas past flooded out
in the way of the smell of cinnamon..
the memories of each ornament, handcrafted by me - each year a different one.. once this tree would have been 4feet tall
I gave all my trees away when we moved from Inglewood
[I do believe, I had a slight breakdown that year, which continued on in my time at Villa Maria. but that time has gone and now I am in the home of my soul - Avalon]
I have had to go and buy a smaller tree to bring in the Christmas Spirit
once this tree would have sat upon an old Kooka stove.. vintage, unused.
once this tree was in a magazine
even though those times have gone.. these Christmas ornaments hold the energy of all those years -
of laughter & love

Our Lady of the Hot Flushes - created by my friend Colette @ a bird in the handand how I have prayed to her over the past year and a bit. She listens to all prayers - even those of complaint, I am sure. has She helped? yes - via a brilliant naturopath & acupuncturist who have levelled out the intensity of my menopause symptoms with herbs.

What a beautiful tree! And love Our Lady of the Hot Flashes, LOL! Glad you liked the Little Drummer Boy video!
Each ornament is a feast for the eyes--and for your memories, I'm sure!

I love it! I also love your story of your trees. The circle of life is round. Different places on the cvircle are different from other places. That's why things change. Sounds like you accept this as the path of life you must follow.
Peace
Each ornament a memory embodied.. love decorating the tree - the children saying over and over, oh i remember this one, i remember when.. and Your Lady is a hoot I must direct a few friends your bloggyway just to have a wee giggle.. (them not me of course)
And we do need prayers! Perhaps there is Our Lady of Perimenopause and Our Lady of Post Menopause. Prayers to keep us grounded are always welcomed.
I love going through holiday treasures, each one a little artifact. Thank you for sharing with us. :)
Any one who like patchouli is a friend of mine. I was a massage therapist and I always had patchouli in my studio and no one liked it.
Loved this post.

Heirlooms on a tree...perfect Christmas♥
It sounds like you are my kind of woman. Love your ornaments and trees and especially love Our Lady of the Hot Flushes. I'm long past that now but I wish I had known of her when I was going through it.
dear one,
you are home in avalon. you have all the TREES!
A beautiful tree filled with family heirlooms and special gifts so that it offers a true sense of home. I love Our Lady of the Hot Flushes. I can certainly understand and have compassion for that. Graat post.

I remember when I was little mum and me unpacking those treasures, your ones are special though because they are hand made. You can never take back the years but if I could I would have made some just like yours!

Your handmade treasures remind me of the Santa you made.I love it.
